Level Anchorage Systemとは？

こちらでは、レベルアンカレッジシステムの創設者・歴史・活動内容のご紹介をさせていただきます。

1981年にレベルアンカレッジシステム講習会を日本において初めて開催し、以後1000名を超える多くの矯正歯科医の方々が参加され、大きな成果をあげています。

レベルアンカレッジシステム開発の主な目的は、矯正歯科に携わる先生方が世界でも最高の専門医になるお手伝いをすることです。年４～５回行われるLAS講習会やセミナーを通して、全体のレベルアップに努めています。

CaliforniaのSan Marinoの Dr. Harry Bleeker’s officeにてAAO preceptor training

Tweedコースを受講

CaliforniaのCosta Mesaで矯正歯科医として開業

南加大学の矯正歯科臨床教授

Charles H. Tweed Foundation会長

1993年

矯正歯科界への多大な貢献に対し、Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics より表彰される

1997年

9月28日にアメリカMontana,Flathead Lake,の別荘で逝去

Born in Elsinore, California, on May 13, to Stanley S. Root and C. Glendore Rush Root.

1942年

June 26 married Ms. Patricia Louise Thomas.

1947年

June 16 graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, Ca. with a BA degree. September entered the School of Dentistry, University of Southern California.

1951年

June 16 Graduated from USC, with a DDS degree.AAO preceptor training in Dr. Harry Bleeker’s office at San Marino, Ca.Attended Dr. Roscoe Keedy’s study group in Pasadena, California.

1952年

Took Dr. Tweed course, highly impressed by Dr. Tweed’s technique and anchorage preparation.Took Dr. Robert Strang’s course at Temple University, 6 months latter.

1954年

Took Tweed course second times, visited course instructor Dr. Holdaway’s office at Utha. Start used preangulated bracket mechanics.

1954年

August, start orthodontics practice at Costa Mesa, Ca. Was invited to develop an appliance with ideal 1st and 3rd values.

1956年

Went into a completed preadjusted appliance, start used McBee punch card system to evaluate more than 80% of all treated cases since then.

1960年

Assisted Dr. Harry Dougherty to begin a new postgraduated orthodontics curriculum, they have run the program into a legacy of our time.

1960〜80年

Spreading Concepts of Anchorage and Vertical Dimension in the States and abroad. The original Level Anchorage System is developing gradually.

1972〜73年

Serving the southern component, of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontic as the President.

1973〜74年

Serving the southern component, of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontia as the President.

1977〜78年

Serving as the President of the Charles H. Tweed Foundation for Orthodontic Research.

1980年

With the helps of Dr. Eldor Sagehorn and 3M Unitek, developed the Level Anchorage System. A unique treatment technique that quantified the severity of malocclusion vs. anchorage available in numeric values, then provides a reliable procedures to achieve the ideal goal within an estimated time.

1981年

Published a research paper “The Level Anchorage System for correction of orthodontic malocclusion” in American J. of Orthodontics.Published “The Level Anchorage System” treatment manual. By 3M Unitek.

1981〜97年

Became an internationally respected orthodontist, teaching the Level Anchorage System in Japan, Taiwan, France, Germany, Italy, South Africa and in the United States. LAS Society was formed in many countries.

1985年

Contributed a chapter “The Level Anchorage System”, in “Orthodontics: current principles and techniques”. Edited by Graber,T.M., and Swain,B.F. Contributed a chapter “Level Anchorage edgewise”, in “New Vistas in Orthodontics”. Edited by Johnston,L.E.

1986年

May 28, the Dr. Terrell L. Root memorial Room was dedicated in the Department of Orthodontics, University of Southern California in honor of his lifetime devotion in the field of Clinical Orthodontics.
